The “Invisible Chains: Breaking the Ties of Trafficking in Persons” conference was a daylong event aimed at efforts to identify, address, and eradicate human trafficking.  It was a step forward to free those in human bondage and find the seeds of solutions in our own backyard.

Participants included world, national, and state leaders engaged in efforts to fight human trafficking, along with survivors and case workers battling on the front lines of this war.

"Escape from Slavery"
Francis Bok has written an extensive account of being captured and enslaved by Arabs in Sudan. His best-selling autobiography, "Escape from Slavery" graphically details the North African slave trade as well as the genocide and mass killings that have become commonplace in Sudan during the civil war.
